Although Okja has been in operation since the pandemic, the new management team and Executive Chef YJ Kim came together to revamp the entire menu in early May of 2023. Their goal: to focus on traditional Korean cuisine.

Jae is our Operations Manager, his brother the Sous Chef JD, and Mama Kim Quality Controller. They come from running 3 generations of royally successful restaurants in South Korea.

Chef YJ Kim spent much of his kitchen career operating and managing the BOH at the Grand Hyatt in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea. Chef Kim, Jae, Mama Kim and JD joined forces to share more of their culture and passion for serving and connecting with the community.

It just so happens, Jae & JD’s grandmother, and Chef Kim’s grandmother share the same beautiful name = Okja.
